Group 1: Immigration Group 1 was responsible for presenting about the topic immigration, covering a lot of ground! They broke down various aspects, including immigration’s history, current policies, and its impacts on both immigrants and host countries. One of the standout parts was their balanced perspective; they explored both the positive and negative effects, which made the topic feel relatable for everyone. They also added a personal touch with real-life stories, making the issue feel more human and less abstract. Their visuals, like graphs, maps, and statistics, were engaging and effectively supported their points without overwhelming the audience. One improvement could be to include more recent data or case studies, especially on current immigration challenges, as this topic is constantly evolving. While their slides were well-organized, some group members seemed a bit tied to their notes. Making more eye contact with the audience would help keep attention focused on them. Overa...

Group 1: Immigration Group 1's presentation covered immigration. I very much enjoyed their presentation as they made it enjoyable and informative. In their presentation they covered the many different kind of policies on immigration, a brief period of history of immigration, also the legal process one has to go through to be processed, and they did very well in addressing and stating this information about immigration and i like how well structured they had put together their power points were. One of the presenters that really caught my eye was one that was covering the effects of immigration on the economy, three articles that are currently happening in the U.S. and common misconceptions that people have on immigration. I enjoyed how clear cut she was in presenting her information and was thorough in her research and getting her points across. All in all, group 1's presentation was very informative, and they made it easy to stay engaged with their presentation.  Group 2: Ed...

Group1 Group 1 did a fantastic job with their presentations, diving right into the key issues surrounding immigration. Alexander stood out with his thorough comparison of immigration policies in the U.S. and other countries. He highlighted how the U.S. focuses on balancing economic contributions, family reunification, and humanitarian protections, especially in contrast to countries like Germany and Canada, which address labor shortages and demographic challenges. His discussion about the significant contributions immigrants make in labor and innovation was insightful, and he also covered recent policy changes under the Biden administration that expanded protections and pathways for immigrants. By comparing job training programs in different countries, he illustrated how diverse approaches to immigration can reflect each nation's needs. Adding specific examples of how these policies impact immigrants’ experiences could have enriched his presentation even further.  Dashka did...

Group 4: Gender Equality. My group was responsible for presenting on gender equality, a significant topic that has been discussed for many years, with numerous proposed solutions and fixes debated over time. Researching this topic wasn’t too difficult since it’s so prevalent and resonates with us all as part of everyday life. Society has made strides in this area, allowing men and women to share many of the same rights and opportunities, but disparities remain, and some issues still need to be addressed. With elections coming up, gender equality has become even more relevant, particularly with Amendment 4 on the ballot, which addresses reproductive rights and abortion. This, along with topics like workplace disparities, access to education, and healthcare, highlights the importance of addressing gender issues affecting all people, not just women. I believe my group did an excellent job presenting clear and informative content on these issues, using visuals like graphs and maps ...

Group 1 : Group One was tasked with presenting Chapters 1, 2, 3, and 5, which covered the fundamentals of public speaking, effective communication techniques, and essential tips and tricks for delivering a successful presentation. Their presentation highlighted the importance of engaging with the audience and ensuring that the message is communicated clearly and confidently. What stood out the most was their ability to thoroughly cover the chapters while keeping the material accessible and relevant to the class. One particular detail that I appreciated about their presentation was the cohesiveness of their slides—each one followed a consistent theme, which demonstrated their teamwork and attention to detail. It was clear that they had put in the effort to not only work together on the content but also to ensure that the visual elements complemented their message. The consistency in design made the presentation more professional and visually appealing, which enhanced the overall e...

Najohlis Colmenares Blog 1.       Group 1 had the task of covering some of the core elements of public speaking, including "The Evolving Art of Public Speaking," "Building Your Confidence," "Listening," and "Adapting to Your Audience." They really kicked things off well by diving into how public speaking has changed over time and why it’s still such an important skill today. They managed to make what could have been a dry topic feel relevant and even a little exciting. One of the highlights of their presentation was the section on building confidence. It’s something everyone struggles with when it comes to public speaking, so it was great that they shared practical tips on how to calm nerves and feel more at ease in front of an audience. They touched on things like body language and mindset, which made their advice really easy to apply. That said, their section on listening felt a bit like an afterthought. They mentioned how important it is but d...
